Not-For-Profit Organizations
Jones and Kolb has extensive experience representing the organizations that serve our community. Our firm
services more than 100 nonprofit organizations in the
metro Atlanta area alone. While these organizations vary widely in their size and focus, each is unique in providing a vital community service. Our wide-ranging experience in this area helps us bring the efficiencies of a professional, experienced nonprofit support team to these organizations.
Our services include:
- Recommendations to Improve Financial Oversight and Governance
- Assistance with Application for Tax-exempt Status
- Accounting for Investments and Investment Policies
- Review of Spending Policies
- Operational Audits Focused on Internal Controls and Personnel Policies
- Assistance with Development of Deferred and Incentive Compensation Plans
- Graphic Presentation of Key Performance Indicators for Boards and Management
Additionally, Jones and Kolb
facilitates a Tax Exempt Association (TEA) Group for the financial and administrative staff of area nonprofits. This group meets monthly to discuss financial, tax and managerial issues and serves as a forum for
roundtable discussion of industry issues and facilitates networking among peers. Topics are selected by the group and usually address emerging issues, recent pronouncements and areas of current concern or interest. We coordinate this program with the Georgia Society of Association Executives' Special Interest Group for finance and administration and the Georgia Center for Nonprofits.
